Press release · 2026 Inc. 5000
Capital Source has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000, our third consecutive year on Inc.’s ranking of America’s fastest-growing private companies. The growth behind the ranking belongs to the operators we fund.
Chicago, August 12, 2026. We are honored to announce that Capital Source®, the commercial finance brand of Capital Source Group, LLC, has been named to the 2026 Inc. 5000, Inc. magazine’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. This is our third consecutive appearance on the list, following recognition in 2024 and 2025. Among 2026 honorees, we ranked No. 139 in the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area and No. 148 in Illinois, with three-year revenue growth of 85%.
The ranking reflects revenue growth, and that growth is a byproduct of sustained demand and client trust. Capital Source has been funding businesses since 2015 and, through its family of affiliates and syndication platform, has access to over $500 million in active funding programs. Today, we serve small and lower-middle-market businesses across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Every point of growth traces back to an operator with a real need: working capital to bridge a cash-flow gap, inventory ahead of a season, equipment to take on more work, or capital to fund a next stage that a conventional lender would not underwrite. We attribute the 2026 ranking and the 85% growth behind it to those clients. Their experience is reflected in Capital Source’s 4.91-star Google rating as of August 2026. Read our reviews.
“Being named to the Inc. 5000 for the third consecutive year is an incredible honor for Capital Source. Making the list in 2024, 2025, and again in 2026 reflects the consistency, resilience, and commitment of our entire team. Three years of sustained growth haven’t come from chasing transactions. They’ve come from building relationships that clients return to. For us, growth has always been about getting better by investing in our people, our technology, and engineering financing solutions that respond to what our clients actually need. I’m incredibly proud of what our team has built and excited about where we’re going next.”

What the 2026 Inc. 5000 ranking measures
The Inc. 5000 is Inc. magazine’s annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States, ordered by percentage revenue growth. For the 2026 list, companies are ranked on the growth of their annual revenue from 2022 to 2025, and must meet Inc.’s eligibility criteria, including being U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent rather than a subsidiary or division of another company, per Inc.’s published methodology. Because the measurement window is three years long, the list rewards sustained growth rather than a single strong quarter. Inc. also publishes metropolitan-area, state, and industry rankings for each honoree, which is where the figures above come from.
What three consecutive years on the list reflects
Three consecutive years on the Inc. 5000 reflects consistency, discipline, and the ability to grow through changing market conditions. For Capital Source Group, that growth has been driven by a simple principle: understand the business first, then structure capital around how that business actually operates. We look beyond conventional credit metrics, evaluate the full financial picture, and engineer financing solutions around each company’s cash flow, operating cycle, and objectives. Making the list three years in a row is a reflection of that approach and of the trust our clients and partners continue to place in us.

What’s Driving Our Growth
- Demand for flexible private credit is durable. Three consecutive Inc. 5000 rankings reflect sustained demand from small and lower-middle-market businesses for capital that adapts to how they operate.
- A broader credit mandate. We serve small and lower-middle-market businesses across a wide range of industries and geographies in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.
- Judgment scales better than templates. By underwriting how a business actually operates, we can engineer financing solutions around the company rather than force the company into a predefined credit box.
